2.0 out of 5 stars Old video clips from late 60s - early 70s, some gems though, 4 Jul 2004
As clearly pointed out in the first review on this item (by tonymackie) these are old video clips, most of them form the Beat Club in Germany in the late 60s - early 70s. But if you are really in search of the music and the rare videos of bands from this era, this may be one of the few places to find them. Some of the recordings are marred by the psychedelic filming of the time; sometimes including weird colours and other flower power effects, but in between there are some real gems. I have earlier written a review on the single disc Guitar Gods here on Amazon.uk, giving it 3 starts which I think it deserves, and refer to this for those interested in details about that particular disc which among others things contain one of the earliest film clips of Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell performing Hey Joe and Eric Clapton performing Tribute to Robert Johnson with Delaney & Bonnie.

Be aware that the three DVDs actually duplicate each other (e.g. The Who's Happy Jack being found in the same version on both the Guitar Gods and Psychedelic High and Mountains Don't Look Around appears on both the Guitar Gods and the Hard Rocking discs), which brings no good credit to a collection bearing the Rhino brand mark which otherwise normally is a certain proof of quality. Furthermore you will not find Manfred Mann's Mighty Quinn on the second DVD, Psychedelic High, but rather Muswell Hillbilly by the Kinks (in a fabulous version as it turns out with Ray Davis introducing himself as Johnny Cash ... so maybe not a bad replacement as the Manfred Mann take on Mighty Quinn is available on the DVD EP-series).

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Buy Ever, 2 Mar 2004
I have started to replace my CD collection with DVD. All of the titles I have bought so far, including those bought from Amazon, have been great. Its good to hear digital sound along side original videos or film clips that you might not have seen in years. This DVD however isn't even worthy of one star, the sound and picture quality is crap. I've played it once and it will now gather dust. Dont buy it!!
