In the time since Jessica Andrews was discovered at age 12 by Tim McGraw/Faith Hill producer Byron Gallimore, the Tennessee native won the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist award and watched her sophomore effort WHO I AM go gold. For her third album NOW, Gallimore once again teamedup with Andrews to build on prior successes with a solid pop-country outing that finds her singing about faith ("God Don't Give Up On Us"), fun ("Good Time"), and feeling loved ("You're the Man [That Brings the Woman Out of Me]".)
The young country warbler also gets to flex her compositional muscles by not only co-penning the aforementioned "Good Time",but contributing to "There's More to Me Than You", the up-tempo breakout single. Otherwise, Andrews does a fine job in picking material that truly stands out and ranges from the "Tiny Dancer"-like "When Gentry Plays Guitar" and kid-inspired ballad "They Are the Roses" (co-written by '70s singer-songwriter Randy Van Warmer) to the rollicking twangfest "Second Sunday". Along with Jennifer Hanson, Jessica Andrews proves the future of Music Row is in good hands.

With LeAnn Rimes veering further and further away from her (extremely) country roots Jessica Andrews looks set to grab the crown. I don't mean that she's crooning Patsy Cline covers a la Ms Rimes in her early days but on this, Jessica's third album she seems to have comfortably found her niche as a young country-pop artist without selling out completely to the pop world.

"There's More To Me Than You" the album opener and indeed the first single is a fantastic song. A killer hook that demands you sing along (and maybe even do a little dance) to it. It's so good that there's even a ballad version hidden at the end of the CD!

On the ballad side there's the huge "You're The Man (That Brings The Woman Out In Me)" and to remind the dear listener that this is indeed a country album "Cowboy Guarantee" is included.

Listen out also for "Second Sunday" a shouty track about not wanting to go to work on Monday, something we can all relate to I'm sure!

I'd give the enhanced section a miss. The video for "There's More To Me Than You" but it's the far inferior ballad version. Apart from that there is an extremely long interview with Jessica going through the album track by track explaining what the tracks mean to her etc. This predictably all becomes a bit self congratulatory, particularly as none of the songs were penned by Jessica herself.

Give it a go though. If you are a LeAnn fan then try this for definite.
