My Remington washable had packed up (the honeycomb bits had started to break-off, making for a dangerous and sharp shaving experience!), and I was always intrigued by these rotational shavers.

So after a lot of research, I plumped for this one, and I think I have made an excellent choice. I wasn't sure whether to stump up a little more for a washable model, but to be perfectly honest, I never really exposed my old Remington to water that often, instead just resorting to tapping it out in the sink. So the extra expense wouldn't really have been justified.

I like the colour of this model, the plug fits into my shaver/heater thing much better as the plug itself doesn't have much weight (the Remington one would sort-of come out slightly as the plug itself was quite heavy). It recharges very quickly, is much quieter, and does a sterling job of shaving me. The pop-up trimmer didn't impress initially, but only because I was trying to use it like the Remington's which has a different blade formation, but once I realised you had to use it on a slant, I actually found this one to be far superior.

Overall, very happy with it.

Initially this appeared far superior to my last shaver, but within 6 months it seems blunt and doesnt give such a close shave, even with daily cleaning. Compared to my boots foil shaver which lasted about 6 years, this is certainly not as good after a short period and not worth double the cost.If it needs new blades after 6 months then this is going to get even more expensive!! sorry would not recommend this product

When you find something good - you stick with it, however, the manufactures believe they can improve things, and, after less than six months with my latest Philishave . . . I was pulling my hair out by the roots . . . at least this later method would have proved more effective !

Sadly, my 6000 model Philishave is not a patch on earlier models, it 'needs' more frequent dismantling and extreme cleaning - or it ceases to work, and even then is less effective generally. The only good thing is the short charge requirement, but as it fails to shave properly, this is pointless.
