Featuring the episodes:

Out of the Past Parts 1&2 - Wolverine's former love, a Japanese woman named Yuriko, believes Wolverine caused her father's death. She has turned herself into a living weapon, the cyborg Lady Deathstrike, and has come to America to seek revenge.
The Lotus and the Steel- Wolverine returns to Japan after quitting the X-Men, but soon finds himself in a battle with attacking bandits.
Nightcrawler - In Germany, Wolverine becomes restless while the rest of the team indulge in some much needed R&R. When he hears about a demon hiding in a local monastery his investigations lead him not to a demon but to a mutant. Will the townsfolk be convinced?

Like one of the other reviewers has said, this is just a collection of 4 episodes from the 90s cartoon series to cash in on the latest x-men movie.
They are completely random and are only here because Wolverine plays a fairly big role in each episode.
It would be much better if the entire series was released on dvd, because it was great and much better than the recent x-men evolution series.
The episodes here are ok, but each of them are part of a bigger story arc, and since no more of that story arc is present on here, the ongoing saga is impossible to follow.
Full series release please, whoever owns the right!

Although I have to admit I was a little wary of the non-marvel style covering on the box, I was pleased to find that these classic episodes of the original cartoon have been released. Contrary to the critics shown above, I had no illusions as to the similarity of the film to the original cartoon and thank the producers for continuing to release the orginal series for us fans. I love the animated series and really think that this is a worthy purchase for any other fans of the cartoon.

It is easy for people to be confused when x-men dvds such as this are released in response to the x-men films. The cartoons dont resemble the films & this is why some may find it different. As previously mentioned the 4 cartoon episodes on this dvd are from story arcs from series 3 and 4 of the 90's series.

Out of the Past is a fast-paced, intriguing story that precedes the phoenix saga that is available on another dvd. The other 2 episodes are stand alone stories that preach age old morals to the viewer.

Overall, this is a quality dvd but I'd wait for a highly likely complete boxset that you would enjoy far more.
