I recently discovered Koby Israelite at Meltdown in London. He's an Israeli composer and poly-instrumentalist - plays accordion, drums, piano, guitar, clarinet and probably several other things besides. His music is a wonderfully eclectic mix of sounds - gypsy, punk, jazz, Middle Eastern, Balkan and some metal overtones, often switching from one to another during the same song. Not easy to describe but a joy to listen to, there's everything in there - tradition, rebellion, originality, a bit of humour - check it out! Would love to see him at a music festival sometime soon...
