Viktoria Mullova is one of the leading violinists in the world. Her relatively recent interest in playing on gut strings serves her well in these two concertos. The sound is always interesting, full of character and colour. The performances are absolutely assured, unshowy and unfailingly musical. The orchestral contribution is just as good, and this CD can be recommended with confidence.

What a great album, 28 Feb 2005

Excellent album. I have several recordings of Bethoveen but this one is so different. Violin is so tender and sensitive here. It is a real woman touch. Sound of violin is flaying above the orchestra. If you have SACD player as i do, this is an ultimate experience.
Go for it.
