During the 1970's and 1980's I was a great fan of BJH, collected most of their albums and have a powerful video of a concert they gave in Berlin before the wall came down. The prospect of a DVD celebrating their 25th anniversary seemed too good to miss. Wrong! Leaving aside the small matter that this 90 minute DVD consists of only about 45 minutes of BJH in concert and a further 45 minutes of promos for othet titles released on this 'label', the concert for me lacked the power and passion that I consider to be part of the music of this band. Although it contained several classic BJH tracks, e.g. Mockingbird, Medicine Man, Life is for living and Hymn amongst them, this for me seemed like one concert to many. If you are a long time Barclay James Harvest fan feel free to go ahead and listen and look for yourself, but remember - you have been warned!
