5.0 out of 5 stars Revell just keeps getting better and better!, 7 Mar 2003
Graeme Revell isn’t one of the biggest names in movie scoring business but as this score proves he soon will be, and one of the best at that. I first noticed his name in “Titan A.E.”, where he provided a stunning score. Other scores of later years including “Tomb Raider” and “Frank Herbert’s Dune” the sci-fi channel’s three part mini series what have influenced this score. Strong percussions, a racing beat and deep violins provide the base “Daredevil Theme” with eerie sounds from synthesizers and vocals to match. Revell uses electrical guitars to strengthen the heroic type theme in the track “Matt Becomes Daredevil” adding more depth to the piece creating some particular good music. Other guitars are used in conjunction with the piano to create a more softer theme used mainly in “Elektra” and the beginning of “The Necklace” to provide a more romantic and sensual texture. The “Elektra” track finishes with some high female vocal sounds and graceful violins. The piano is also less sensually used to create some moving pieces in “Young Matt’s Father” and “Falling Rose”. The “Bullseye” track contains a lot deeper bass percussions and this appears later in the tracks “Elektra Vs Bullseye” and “Church Battle”. “The Kingpin” is a stand-alone track as it brings heavy percussions and a variety of electronic synthesized sounds, reminds me of the “Home Invasion” track from “Tomb Raider” and this is just as enjoyable. Overall an excellent disc and a credit to Revell’s talent, this disc won’t be leaving my collection any time soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good old rock mood, 3 Mar 2003
Regardless if you like the movie or not, this soundtrack moves along the same lines as the OST for The Marix. Dark, gothic and rock - it bares a sound resemblance to the city and the mood of the comic - nevertheless it fails to connect with the movie as much as we would like it to. It's a good soundtrack to have with you when moving through the city - the murderous glint that it will give to your eyes will keep strangers away. Attention: It's worth the trouble only if your mood, upbringing and teenage years are characterised by this good old rock sensation (see: concerts, torn jeans and smoking 24/7). If on the other hand Pop is your game, don't even bother.
