1.0 out of 5 stars Russell Hobbs 3390 Coffee Maker, 19 Jun 2005
By John White (Trowbridge, Wiltshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I wish I had read other reviews prior to purchasing. The machine is a disaster,
a. The filling operation is poor and water is likely to overflow onto the hot plate.
b. The coffee does not remain very hot.
c. The pouring is very poor and drips.
d. Considering the physical size of the carafe the capacity is small.
e. The handle fixing has proven extremely weak and has broken.

With so many similar complaints why is this machine still on the market without some of the points addressed.

J. M. White

1.0 out of 5 stars Russell Hobbs 3390 coffee maker broken again, 9 Jan 2004
I would strongly advise against buying this coffee maker. There is a problem with the coffee pot design with the result that the handle breaks away from the pot. When I complained to Russell Hobbs, they sent a replacement pot which supposedly has an improved design. Within 6 months, it has broken again. Obviously there is a danger of scalding when this happens.

2.0 out of 5 stars A very average product, 19 Dec 2003
By Darren Walden "darrenwalden" (Warwick, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've had my coffee machine for a couple of months now and overall it is rather a poor machine. I use the machine at least twice a day and so have got used to its poor design and imperfections.

Firstly, the inlet for the water is a very poor design - if you pour the water in too fast it cascades down the front of the machine. As well as causing a large puddle to appear in my kitchen, this also leaves water on the hot plate, thus causing the machine to constatntly make a noise along the lines of a minor earthquake.

Secondly, thw water is run through the coffee and too lower temperature. Instead of heating the water to the optimum temperature, the machine runs through the water at a low temperature then gets the hot plate to 'reheat' the coffee. Not very good. There is also no cut off timer on the hot plate. It is very easy to leave the machine on, thus heating dry the jug, to leave a nice burn mark on the jug itself.

To conclude. I'm sure there are many other better machines out there.

Don't buy this one

It's rubbish...
