Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Moto GP 3 is the third in Namco's series of track-based bike racers, and it's easily the pick of the bunch. Although the game originated in the arcades, this PS2 version is primarily a realistic biking simulation. Outside of the game's Arcade Mode, it's important to learn how best to shift your rider's weight, and it's vital that you discern when to use front brakes and when to pull the back brakes. You can lose control even on a straight section of track--it's that realistic. The great thing is, though, that Moto GP 3 can with sufficient practice be mastered by players of any skill level. And when it is mastered, it's an absolute scream to play.

Graphically, too, it's quite sublime. Real world tracks such as Estoril, Suzuka and Paul Ricard are depicted smoothly, with such attention to detail that you could squint and easily fool yourself into thinking you were watching TV coverage. Even engine noises have been honed to near-perfection. Each bike sounds distinct--exactly like its real-life counterpart.

Sequels often aren't worth bothering with if you have an earlier version of the game in question, but Moto GP 3 is a sequel that improves upon its predecessors in every way. And what's more, it brings all-new features into the equation--such as a gripping four-player split-screen mode and a front/back braking system on all of the game's many new bikes. Biking fans will be in heaven; others will be transformed into biking fans by Moto GP 3's high-speed thrills. --Jonti Davies

Official PlayStation 2 Magazine

"A highly recommended quality racer with plenty of depth and some fiendish challenges. 8/10."

5.0 out of 5 stars Moto GP 3, 27 Jul 2004
I got this game a little while back and it's still as good as ever. You have a large selection of varied tracks, (all with emense detail) and a large selection of bikes, not to mention some to be unlocked, also with emense detail. There's challenges and time trials, not to mention arcade racing, multiplayer and championship. If your not that exsperienced, you can enable yourself to not be able to fall off your bike, but if your feeling comfortable with the game, then you can turn on advanced controls such as weight shifting. It's cockpit view, and outside view are amazing. This is without a doubht another great namco game to go onto the wall. The computer are great and it's amazing fun to play.If you've seen pictures of it, then you'll not what I mean, if not you'll have to take my word on it, the graphics are absouloutly superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moto GP3, 19 Mar 2004
Having tried different bike games that have promised so much but failed to live up to the hype, Moto GP3 has blown every other road racing bike game into the weeds. The graphics are absolutely fantastic, the circuits and bikes are so authentic that modern GP riders use the game to learn circuits that they are unfamiliar with. That is a measure of how good the game is.
I hope that Namco can bring out a Moto GP4 with the new teams and new bikes,it will go straight to the top of my wish list.

5.0 out of 5 stars MIX IT WITH THE BEST!!!!, 18 Jul 2003
By Marcus W (Bucks, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
For a die hard racing fan this is as close as you'll get to riding and racing a full blown GP bike. The game is more soft simulation than arcade and really tests your virtual racing skills.

The game looks and feels great, the added features like special moves (wheelies, endoes and burnouts) add that feeling of control and fulfillment often missing from games.

Mastering the technique is king, keep it smooth and precise and you are richly rewarded with great racing, power slides and wheelies, Rossi eat your heart out.

The option to control the brakes independently, shift your weight and manual gears, will improve the longevity of the game as you try to master all the controls.

If you have the skill and patience to master it, buy it!!
