so far from the glory days..., 18 Mar 2005
you know when you're a kid and you spend your xmas money on something, then it turns out to be rubbish, but you don't wanna admit it to yourself because you just spent your money on it? well i'm a student now and have more money than ever cos of student loan etc so i can admit it, and well, i bought this game, and its rank. and i only paid £6.graphically, this game is so bad. i mean, i can kinda understand why some may say it looks good, its just, well, clever. its basically loads of really quick (and bad) 2D images flashing past the screen quickly, to give an illusion of 3D, and it works badly. the graphics of the actual car look great, but it just sits glued to the middle bottom of the screen, pivoting while the horrible scenery trys to adjust. if a car overtakes you, then goes round a corner that maybe be solid, say, a mountain side for example, you can still see the car, through the mountain, as if its floating or something. it truely is horrible to watch. i bough this hoping to be reminded a bit of the days when sega made great console that, unfortunately, nobody bought. having sega rally 1 and 2 on the saturn and dreamcast, i thought its only polite i got this one, but its bad. the moeny/credits thing is a nice new feature, every time u race u get credits to spend on new courses, cars, cup entries, and even old skool full screen '95 posters of the game. the sound is good, but it looks terrible. dont kid yourself thinking that you GBA can do 3D, its cleary not 32-Bit as they say, cos the saturn version was quality. mario kart looks much better. spend your money on zelda, the nes classic or mario bros 1 and 3
