1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Waste Your Money - This is Unbelievable Poor Quality!, 16 May 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Best Fitness [DVD] (DVD)
This is a very poor quality product. I have never written an on-line review before, but felt compelled to warn others not to buy this product. If there was a 0 star option, I would have chosen it.

I watched the first 2 minutes of each workout and they are ALL at least 10-20 years old, with the clothes, hair and outdated workouts to match. The sound quality is extremely poor and the whole DVD is very very low budget.

Obviously re-mastered from old VHS video's the picture quality is also unbelievably poor. One workout, even explains to you, how to use your VHS video counter to rewind your tape to re-do exercises!! They couldn't even be bothered to change this voice-over for a DVD!

Do not be fooled by the fact that one of the exercise video's includes Jerry Hall because the remaining 9 workouts aren't even 'morning television' standard and feature some very strange people.

12 hours of absolute rubbish. Do not buy this! Unless you want to buy it to laugh at the ridiculousness of the workouts and the fashion of some of it's presenters! It nearly made my boyfriend, cry with laugher!

1.0 out of 5 stars 80's style keep fit !, 3 Jun 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Best Fitness [DVD] (DVD)
Only buy this if you love bad 80's style keep fit videos as most of the workouts on this DVD are from the 1980's complete with bad music and bad bad fashion!!(especially for the men !!!). If you can get past the terrible 80's clothing and music, some of the workouts are quite reasonable but very dated. The Jazz workout with Traci Lords just has to seen to be believed as it is SO ridiculous !!. The best workout in the collection is Yogacise with Jerry Hall which you can buy separately. I thought the collection would be a good bargian but the workouts are too old and dated.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some good workouts if you can see past the embarrassment!, 9 Jan 2008

This review is from: 10 Best Fitness [DVD] (DVD)
I bought this DVD set several months ago, and eagerly put each DVD in to see which ones would be suitable for me. The first DVD is the best and most up to date (although even the most modern on there is nearly 10 years old). Jerry Hall Yoga is the best-known of all the films but I found it moved way too fast and did not explain all the movements well enough.

On side two are two kick-boxing workouts. These are by far the best, most modern and least cheesy workouts in this dvd collection. The first one ('Kick it') is aimed more at men, the workout contains excercises with weights and also concentrating on abs. The second kick boxing workout 'kick butt' is aimed at women, with more lower-body toning. This is a really good, hard 30 minute workout, with very good instruction.

As for the rest of the DVD's, I think they are best seen for comedy value alone. The outfits, music and routines cover everything from early 70's to early 90's, complete with flourescent spandex, naff dance music, and even naffer presentation. I must admit to having tried the step aerobics workout which was from the late 80's and although it seemed very dated the workout was very intensive and I really knew about it the next day!

Overall, there are probably far better, more modern excersize DVD's which you could buy for the same price as this collection. However, I feel like I have had my moniesworth as I have done the kickboxing workout dozens of times and it is still very challenging.
