A Happy Blue Year !!, 13 Jan 2003
I was wary of seeing material that I'd seen on several video's previously as an avid MCFC fan and video collector. But I was pleasantly surprised ! Excellent narration by Alistair Mann (also a blue !) and come a long way since the pre-historic first, end-of-season review of 1988-89 with Brian Clarke (ex Piccadilly Radio commentator) bumbling his way through patchy clips of some games, with shocking background noise and blinding colours than gets you running to the colour button on your remote ! Anyway, this one....a great blend of action, the obvious highlights of the last 22 years - Spurs FA Cup final 81 - Promotion deciders 89 - Play-off final 98 - Blackburn 99 etc, together with - 'I was there' clips with celeb City fans, who've crawled out of the woodwork - short interviews with Noel Gallagher, Kevin Kennedy etc.(Where were you when we were sh*t, springs to mind !!) Also great goals from seasons that we went down and obviously didn't buy the end of season video, therefore forgot the quality of some of the goals ! Collections of goals / moves from great players past and present from the 60's onwards - the only fault is....you want to see more. There's 75mins on the DVD ( a few extra's - Goaters goals / stats etc) Two hours would probably be about right, but who knows - there may be a volume two on the way !
A very professionaly done production ! Keep up the good work !
