Looking at the other reviews here you'll probably notice a pattern saying that the storyline is paper thin. Here, you'd be correct, none the less this is a brilliant piece of Anime because of it's imagination with the characters and beautifully drawn landscapes. Many of the images could be made into stills and stand up as legitimate pieces of artwork, all credit goes to the artists and I salute them for their work with this piece.

Whatever you do, don't start watching this anime expecting a riveting plot. If you go in prepared for an anime that make you think, you'll be left disappointed. If you've seen Wicked City (by the same director) you'll know what to expect.

For those who haven't though here's a brief summary. Tokyo is underseige from demonic forces, and a reluctant young man is forced to oppose them because he's the only one with the power to stop them. Add to this a whiney-girl, a mysterious Mr. X character, an evil-villain and his croniesand his personal demon horde and it ends up being a lesson in visceral anime.

Despite the thin plot this anime has good animation and top-notch action. Recommended.

If you don't mind cheesy one-liners, graphic violence and unneccesary bad language, then this movie will make your day. It can only be described as a Japanese-mythological-sword play-horror movie, but it sure was fun. As always you've got the reluctant hero, the supernatural bad guy and a whiney femme-fatale. The movie has monsters, creepy people and modern day samurais. If you don't want thinking anime, this movie will satisfy your needs. Very entertaining!
