Svetlanov is famous for his ginormous performances of Poem of Ecstasy, but this live recording is one of the worst. The tempo is sluggishly slow throughout and the colossal climax caves in under the weight of too much expansion. Truly great one is Scriabin - Symphony No 2; Le Poème de l\'extase but sadly recording engineers made mess of the climax due to recording level set too high from the biginning and being taken by surprise by the colossal volume and dynamic range of the actual sound. So the best recorded great performance of the work is Rimsky-Korsakov; Scriabin - Orchestral Works as far as I know, which was also recommended as the first choice in BBC Radio 3 Building a Library.
