Ramones - We're A Happy Family, 18 Feb 2003
Having been in the pipeline for well in excess of a year, the infamous all-star Ramones tribute album is here!! Produced by Rob Zombie and Johnny Ramone, this album collects some of the most powerful and influential bands on planet rock (Metallica, U2, Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and has them batter out ramones tunes of their choice for our listening pleasure.Standout tracks on the album are: Eddie Vedder and Zeke - 'I Believe In Miracles' = Eddie Veder sounds almost unrecognisable fronting Zeke for this blistering cover, '... Miracles' has masses of energy and the choruses Eddie sings will stand hairs on the back of your neck Rooney - 'Here Today, Gone Tommorrow' = A beautiful version of 'Here....' which sounds much more relaxed, in the context of the album, than most of the other tracks. Kiss - 'Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio?' = While not being a huge Kiss fan, this is a rousing cover which is bursting with energy and fun Metallica - '53rd & 3rd' = Metallica pick up 53rd and 3rd, shove it into the metal factory, and it comes out a crunching, hulking behemoth of a song. Hetfield growls his way through, as only he knows how, taking your ears and commanding you listen. These are by no means the only good tunes on this album (Zombie, Garbage, U2, The Pretenders and Pete Yorn all contribute great songs) With such a wide berth of artists contributing, each with their own unique styles, we have an album with much more depth than would be a standard tribute album. This is definately a worthwhile purchase for ramones fans, for rock and roll fans, and for fans of good music.

new/old songs?, 10 Feb 2003
Well to start of this is a great album, for hard core fans. The casual ramones fan may be left a little cheated by this album, even though it has some of rocks greatest bands, ie Metallcia nad the chili peppers. All the songs although sung by different bads somehow manage to sound all the same. Especially the offsprings version of 'i wanna be sedated' this is practically the original. I was expecting some cool spins on old songs but no its the same new/old songs sung by people that cant hit the high notes like joey. Oh and theres a cool little intro by the horror meistro stephen kso buy it if you are a die hard fan, casual fans download it!!

Gabba Gabba Hey It Gabba Gabba Rocks!!, 11 Feb 2003
What a tribute album, I mean how can it not be!! Produced by Johnny Ramone & Rob Zombie, Liner Notes by Stephen King and some excellent covers. Ok there are a few covers that weren't so great, personnally i weren't that keen on Marilyn Mansons cover of The KKK Took My Baby Away and Green Days cover of Outsider (but then again I just don't like Green Day!). So why should you get this tribute album? 1) It produced by nonee other than Johnny Ramone himslef & Mr. Rob Zombie (and Rob Zombie is such a big fan of the Ramones then he's bound to deliver something worthy of there name, and like Stephen King worte, you don't say no to someone with Zombie in there name!) 2) Excellent Liner notes by Stpehen King (it is quite amusing to read, and plus he's another big Ramones fan, don't believe, then why don't you watch Pet Sematary, two Ramones songs, one called Pet Sematary, like the film, I think theres a connection going on there!) & 3) excellent covers by U2, Rob Zombie, Eddie Vedder with Zeke, Garbage, The Offspring, Rancid, Rooney, The Pretenders, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Peter Yorn, Tom Waits and KISS.
