ACTION PACKED..WELL...ACTION FILM !! !! !! !! !!, 25 Mar 2006
Ballistic:Ecks vs Sever, besides from its ratherstrange title, is one of the best action films of its year (in my opinion). Lucy Lui and Antonio Banderas play great and very appropriate parts in this film. Along side the cool soundtrack and the intense action scenes this film is one of the best non stop action films there is. The story for this film is nothig we havent seen before. An ex FBI agent with a presumed dead wife has been called from retirement to fight a super assassin type woman and a guy who plans to kill lots of people with a microscopic robot (that he plans to release upon the world). So this is obviously nothing spectacular in terms of a script or story line. And many scenes are over the top in terms of bullet dodging and exploding cars which seem to fly for no reason. And on the terms of explosions, this has lots, probably the most ive ever seen in a film. And if you like this sort of thing, youll probably see this to be a film adaptation of a typical shooting game for a Playstation. As i wouldnt be surprised if thats where they got most of the ideas. There are a couple of car/bike chases too, not brilliant but there is plently of shooting and of course explosions to acompany it. If you buy this film then you must like action films and preferably be a gaming mad person under the age of 15, other wise rent it first and see what you think.

Enjoyable fluff..., 24 Mar 2006
I shouldn't have enjoyed this film.Let's list the bad points: Laughably unoriginal plot about a kidnapped son, and a retired FBI agent brought back into the service to find him. Diabolical dialogue. Outrageous plot devices, and major continuity flaws. Dull, unispired kung fu combat scenes. Average acting. If you can understand anything Antonio Bandera's mumbles, please let me know... But let's get to the good points: Guns, explosions, lots of guns, more explosions...an even bigger explosion, one huge MF gun, and even more explosions. And I just sat there with a stupid big grin on my face while the fireworks went off onscreen, some huge gunfights exploded around me, and some short, but pretty nifty car chases. An incredibly bad film that I loved. Leave your brain at the door, and enjoy this too...!

what a pleasant surprise, 23 April 2004
This film crept out of nowhere - no adverts, straight to DVD/VHS, and onlythe (also good) Gameboy Advance games to even suggest that Ballistic: Ecksvs. Sever existed. It's surprising that this didn't get tonnes ofattention. Starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu, it's got the big stars, and it's certainly got the action. When I say action, I mean some of themost enjoyable action sequences I've ever seen. Guns, explosions,martial-arts, and even humour all play a part. You'll laugh out loud whenyou're not sure you should have, and you'll be glued to the screen asbullets fly (aswell as bodies) all over the place. That's not to saythat the rest of the film suffers. The script is very well written, withenough twists and turns to make your brain melt with confusion. There's agood deal of humour, as I've mentioned, so you'll never be bored and neverlose the plot too much. A stunningly under-rated film this. I suggest see it now, before itbecomes a cult classic and copies are like golddust.
