Will Young has done it again with a superb new single - a double A-side - "Don't Let Me Down" (self-penned) - a lovely track -and "You and I" which is on the album but is worth listening to again and again. And to add to our enjoyment he has two new tracks on the CDs. CD1 has "If That's What You Want" which is a great song - very catchy. CD2 has "Ready or Not" co-written by Will, this is an up-beat dance track. It is a pity that these two great tracks were not on the album instead of The Long and Winding Road.

This CD shows what Will can do and we look forward to a long and fruitful career for him. Well done, Will!

I think there are a few people who will be eating their words after listening to Will Young's new single. People were quick to jump on the anti-Pop Idol bandwagon, critisizing the cover versions that Will has released. Well, here he is with not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 original new songs. And it has to be said that they are all fantastic. In fact the B-sides are so good they could have easily been released as singles in there own right.

There are 2 versions of the CD, with all profits going to Children In Need. Both versions include 'Don't Let Me Down' and 'You And I'. CD 1 includes a limited edition poster of Will and features 'Ready Or Not' as the B-side. CD 2 has 'If That's What You Want' and you can also watch the video of You And I on you PC or DVD player.

Don't Let Me Down - Minimal background music and a gentle tune which is guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy even before you see the video which features some of the children who have been helped by CIN.

You And I - Starts with a slow tinkly piano intro and builds to the rousing chorus which shows off Will's stunning voice to perfection.

Ready Or Not - VERY funky, think Sister Sledge(!) meets George Michael. This will suprise a lot of people I think. Very different to anything Will has done before.

If That's What You Want - Sexy, sexy, sexy. Great lyrics, catchy tune and Will's fantastic voice. What more can you ask for?

Overall, some great songs and raising money for a good cause. There's no excuse for not buying both versions.

"Don't Let me Down" a gentle, haunting ballad that will keep ringing in your ears long after the cd has stopped. We've been short of good, straightforward ballads of this type in recent months. What makes this one a bit special is the quality of the tone of Will Young's voice. Who can resist when he pleads so well?

"You and I" even pedants of English grammar will have to admit that this is an all time winner! It has everything a big ballad should have; pathos, successful repetition and a sense of going somewhere - all brought together by that rich and unique voice of the new master of the genre. Sure it's on the album but look at my next entry if you want to know why you should still buy it!

"If That's What You Want" - well it certainly is for me! This track alone is worth buying the single for! Classic Motown style and devices brought up to date with incredible skill!
It's smooth, sexy and sophisticated. The quirky accompaniment works and although I wasn't sure about the end the first time I heard it, I suspect that's because I didn't want it to finish!
If you're a soul fan, I defy you not to play this over and over again - and you will get goosebumps! Worthy of Green, Gaye or Wonder; this track is a must!!!
