unusual movie featuring river pheonix as a young man trying to make money to get to college, his methods of doing so include sleeping with every female in the script (and not all of them happen to be young slim and lovely) his best mate is a very young chandler from friends-well worth watching just for a giggle at the fresh face! in short a blue movie with plenty of teenage bump and grind.

Funny - But not his best!, 11 Aug 2005
Many of River Phoenixes films are ground breaking. People see him in such films as Running On Empty, My Own Private Idaho & Stand By Me, and many who have seen this film think it is rubbish! It's not - but its not ssupposed to be ground breaking!!!!! Its a funny film that was made for a teenage - river - loving audience, and love it they did! You need to accept that this film (with Matthew Perry!) is a great laugh - and it is totally different from Rivers style - thats why its good! So THINK about it before you slate it! Oh and by the way - He's trying to raise $85 to go on holidasy with his girlfriend to Hawaii! It's not Jimmys fault he gorgeous! What would you do fellas?!?!

Matthew Perry..., 2 Dec 2003
...plays Fred Roberts, a character who would be inconsequential to the plotline, had there been one. Basically, Jimmy needs to raise $110 in order to go to Hawaii - although it's not really clear why he wants to go - and he seems more interested in sleeping with several girls along the way. 'Matthew L. Perry' plays a small role as Jimmy's friend, appearing in quite a few scenes early on, but rarely featuring after the first half an hour or so. There are no funny moments in this film, least of all for Matt. It really hit home to me how bad this film is when Dad came in halfway through and asked me what the plot was: I couldn't tell him - because nothing really appeared to be happening. Surprisingly, the DVD case did not advertise greatly the fact that Perry is in it: it certainly doesn't have much else going for it.
