5.0 out of 5 stars Driving Us Wild Still!, 1 Dec 2002
By Martin A Hogan "Marty From SF" (San Francisco, CA. (Hercules)) - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
McCartney will never lose his touch and this double disc proves that although we will never see a Beatles concert, we still have Paul. Punctuated with mostly Beatles tunes, the sound is crisp and McCartney and his band strut thier stuff with abandon! I've never quite heard a rock concert so full of clean energy! Even songs like, "Coming Up", which I never liked, is pure fun. When I saw the set list, I was skeptical, but even mediocre tunes like, "Vanilla Sky" and "Your Loving Flame" stand out. "Live And Let Die" is a great adaption and "Something" brings a tear to the eye. The "Wings" songs were carefully chosen with only the ones that McCartney dominated being sung. When the concert reaches, "Let It Be", the rest of the show is gut-wrenching nostalgia - the best kind. God, I hope he tours again.

5.0 out of 5 stars not quite sure but boy did it win me over !!!!!!!!!!!, 7 Feb 2003
By Dave - a music fan (West Yorkshire) - See all my reviews
I was unsure of this one - the time I saw McCartney live (Manchester Free Trade hall), and the live albums so far, were ok but not that good, however all is forgiven - this is brilliant. Like Brian Wilson he's surrounded himself with a younger and very tight band, and it shows. They ain't the Beatles but they rock - they help hold the show together, and seem to inspire McCartney to greater heights. Mostly he doesn't deviate too much from the originals, but the enthusiam he gives makes for great listening, and at a price much cheaper than the shows. All the faves are here, and a couple of new ones - including a cover of "Something" (featuring a lead banjo - and it actually works great) and a new song for John (that gets the crowd chearing).
The question is why should you buy this when you've got most of the songs already? The answer is simply the delivery -Paul's on top form and the band are simply great - and it's fun to hear McCartney stuff followed by Beatle songs - shame that Jackos getting the royalties though.
This is one of the best live albums ever - and I've got quite a few - hopefully after McCartney's "Long and Winding Road" I won't hear Will and Gareth's ever again !!!!! ORDER THIS NOW !

4.0 out of 5 stars Macca Hits The High Notes, 7 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Back in the US and back in the high-life again, our Macca strides through this album with confidence and with his voice in excellent shape. The sound quality is great and whilst the band are excellent, it is clear just who is the main attraction. McCartney runs the well paced show from start to finish and on this hearing I want him to load up his kit and tour this side of the water. My only critique is the choice of material for the album - I know the guy is a God and has written sooooo many fantastic songs but keen fans (such as me!) already have several live versions of many of these songs and some of his other songs deserve a well earned airing.
