He comes complete with Turbo Boost, Super Pursuit Mode (exceed speeds of over 200 mph), Ski Mode, Scan Mode, Micro Jammers and two beverage cup holders equipped as standard.

Set off on exciting new adventures and encounter well-known characters including Devon and Bonnie. With more than 10 original, action-packed missions and more than 15 unique environments, Michael and KITT will settle old scores with enemies such as KITT's diabolical twin KARR and the evil mastermind Garth.

Manufacturer's Description

Knight Rider is based on the popular 80’s TV series of the same name; based around a police officer Michael Long who is shot in the face, and miraculously survives with the care of F.L.A.G. (Foundation for Law And Government). His face is reconstructed and he is given a new identity and job, as a one-man army and fighter for justice. In his fight, the worlds most advanced car aids him: KITT, the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a sentient car equipped with the newest inventions.

Like the series, the game is packed with: action, spectacular driving, adventure and deceit, all aimed at helping the powerless and innocent.

1.0 out of 5 stars If Kitt was here now he'd kick someones butt!, 8 Jan 2003
By Bumblemonkey (Norwich, UK) - See all my reviews
The PS/2 boots up, the 'whirr whirr' of Kitt's scanner sounds and straight away I am greeted with one of the most memorable title sequences of the eighties. A little grin appears on my face as I slip back into my childhood and prepare myself to become Michael Knight (without the hairy chest and mullet).

I eagerly start the first mission, as I hit the accelerator I discover that Bonnie has decided to remove Kitt's 220mph groundbreaking transmission and give Kitt a single speed gearbox which could be trashed by most XR3i's.

As I turn the first corner (avoiding these red flashy things that are randomly appearing over the road) I realise that Bonnie has swopped Kitt's multi-million dollar computer controlled suspension system from one off an 1.1 Nova and for some reason has decided to bungie cord Kitt's steering wheel in the forward position.

Hmm, I begin to wonder if Bonnie's switched sides and now works for Karr and then im conviced as I realised that Kitt's V8 powerhouse with that trademark engine 'Whirrr' noise has been replaced with the block out of and old Sierra.

All joking aside this really is a terrible game. The controls are absolutely awful and bear to resemblance to any other car game I have ever played. Kitt handles like a brick on prozac and the only resemblance between this game and the TV series in the 3D model.

Perhaps I am making a big deal out of the whole Kitt thing but as a fan playing a game of one of my favourite childhood shows I expect the characters to be a faithful reproduction. If games like Lord of the Rings can be so advanced that not only do they use the actors voices but they can actually capture the spirit of the movie and faithfully reproduce this then why can Davilex even sample the noise of Kitt's engine from the series?

Even if they had taken the old PSX Ridge Racer game and put the Kitt model into it would still have been a far better game than this.

If you love Knight Rider then buy this, you'll overlook the faults and probably enjoy it, otherwise I would steer clear (no pun intended).

If you work for a Software house who produces excellent racer games then please get the licence from Davilex and make us a game worthy of the title 'Knight Rider.'
P.S. While you're at you couldn't do Airwolf aswell?

1.0 out of 5 stars Knight Rider is terrible!, 15 Dec 2002
I recently bought knight rider, in the hope that it would be just the right mix of racing and destruction, from the first few seconds of the first level I knew that i'd been wrong, very wrong. The amount of things wrong with this game are too many to list here but here are a few just to make a point: the graphics are very blocky, they were obviously designed half-heartedly by some lazy programmer who hoped that knowone would drive up to any of the buildings or scenery. The gameplay is too simple and the levels are boring, dull and repetitive. The ai of the enemy cars is terrible, if you time things just right you can predict what they'll do! The basic aim of this game is to drive a talking car around badly designed locations, and jump up into the air every so often. Every day we hope for god's sake, will somebody use a trademark figure for a good game! Once again they have proven that you can't.
