4.0 out of 5 stars Good album in parts, 24 Dec 2003
By J. Stott "x-p-r-s" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I would just like to add my comments regarding this album; I think this album is very good; at least the first six tracks are anyway.

My previous experience of De-Phazz has come from various chill out albums Mambo Craze (Buddha Bar II), Online (Winter Chill 3).

As I like those two tracks I thought I would investigate further. The first album I came across being this one, I heard the album and decided I liked it enough to purchase it so came on here only to find it not being stocked (although this has now changed) and at the time I came across the review above this one.

It didn't put me off as I had heard the album already, what it did do was to me to introduce me to there other albums which I have been disappointed with.

I personally think out of the all of De-Phazz's albums Daily Lama is the best, particular favourite tracks are Looks, You Stayed, What's Behind, Wrong Dance (Nice Flute) & Try ( I love the vocal on this one).

I find a lot with chill out/down tempo albums and I have bought a few recently that I only tend to like maybe half of the tracks and this album is no different, but the tracks that are good are well worth listening to.

I am not saying you will be constantly listening to this album but give it go if you have listened to a lot of identikit chill out albums which there seems to be a number released every week and I am sure you will like a fair few of the twenty tracks contained within.

5.0 out of 5 stars De Phazz or not De Phazz, that is the question, 3 Feb 2004
By A Customer
This is a great album and a very good De Phazz album. I was hugely impressed with it after being put off buying it for so long by less than favourable reports.

De Phazz gone POP? I don't think so . . . De Phass highly polished and taking themselves a bit more seriously . . . certainly.

It's not as playfull/quirky as 'Godsdog' or 'Death by Chocolate' but the trade mark sound, vocals etc. are there, working seamlessly.

If one did not have the previous albums to compare to, I don't believe there is anything here to fault.

SO . . .

5/5 as a stand alone album
4/5 as an anticipated De Pahzz follow up to Godsdog and Death by Chocolate.

Buy and enjoy this impressive album.

3.0 out of 5 stars De Phazz turns Pop!!
I would hardly classify De Phazz latest CD as electric jazz. It is very far away from the innovative and sublime Godsdog. Read more
