This album doesn't sound like sonic youth. this doesn't mean its bad but its got few of the melodies that have become so prominent in sonic youth's work and no vocals. The influence The I.C.P. hold on this is clear: the rhythm is very free-form jazz based and is probably the most notable part though some very melodic bass and layered guitar saves this from becoming a tightly held together noise jam....the unbearable kind that is. thank god its saved!
So is it worth getting? maybe! none of the tracks have names: just roman numerals which is a bit annoying. (there are eight tracks in case your wondering). there are two or three decent songs: V, VI and X (yes X does mean ten. its not numbered logically. this is sonic youth!) certainly are worth hearing. bits of other songs are too but theres a lot to filter out in my opinion. This is more for fans of the most experimental sonic youth and free form jazz (they chuck in a bit of brass and reed for good measure) than sonic youth's more pop-based noise art...or whatever you call it. i like it but its a risk.

I love Sonic Youth, always hav always will, but im writing this as a warning: ATTENTION JUGGALOS! This is not sonic youth with our beloved Insane Clown Posse, but some pretentious Neu band, sounding like a mix of Grunge and Jazz, if that floats your boat, then buy it! It isnt the same Sonic Youth sound. I personally think Sonic Youth have passed thier best period a long time ago, eg Goo, Dirty are amazing. A collaberation with Insane Clown Posse would be unbelievable, but i doubt it'lll ever happen, althought the songs Sonic Youth did with hip-hop bands on the Judgement Night soundtrack were phenomenal. This review is only to warns others not to buy this by mistake, i feel dumb, lol.

On the back of the CD the people who wrote this album were really chuffed with themselves having said "It only took us a day to make and record this album " ... It shows .. Utter crap .. Avoid at all costs
