5.0 out of 5 stars New United, 27 Jan 2003
I bought the original history of United way back in 1988 and the days of glory in the 1960s seemed a world away - now the new updated version makes me realise how lucky and spoilt United fans are.
First, the footage is superb and rightly so given the richness of their history. What is impressive is the addage of rare, mostly unseen footage, such as Billy Meredith and Eddie Colman dancing down the wing.
Second, United productions are slowly becoming more slick - I have some terrible videos fron the late 1980s as well as the more recent Promised Land (dire) - but this is alongside my george best dvd. It runs smoothly, doesn't focus on irrelevant stuff, no long boring interviews with people saying how much they love United.
Above all, it is totally revamped - I feared it would be the same as the original plus the last 10 years, but they have changed it and that is good.
Well worth it, especially if you're a post-1996 football fan and are not aware of charlie roberts, billy meredith and of course duncan edwards.
