5.0 out of 5 stars Great movie, 3 Jan 2003
By RnA (London, UK) - See all my reviews
Entropy is the semi-autobiographical film by director Phil Joanou which tells the story of a young director struggling to make a film for a despotic film studio while his life falls apart around him.

Along the way, he calls on some old friends of his, the rock band U2, to give him some guidance. He goes on tour with them to help them make a music video, gets married in Vegas, and has a conversation with his cat.

A great performance by Stephan Dorff and cameos by U2 band members Bono and Larry Mullen Jr. carry this film. Watching a wedding on a 150ft. video screen that was actually shown at their PopMart South Africa show make it unmissable for any U2 fan.

It's hard to review this movie without ruining it, but it all comes together in the end and is a beautiful tribute to a lost companion.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bleh, 28 May 2005

(REAL NAME)
I found it weak and self-indulgent. It's a love story and a very personal one and it IS different from the humdrum, and some of the cinematic effects catch the eye in a good way - but overall it didn't quite cut it for me.

Inoffensive mixed-audience viewing, ok for night in as a second film, but not quite the main feature...

5.0 out of 5 stars ENTROPY, 21 May 2004
By Mark (THE DUDE) Kempster (PRESTON, Lancashire, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
FANTASTIC!!! I laughed my ass off and then cried and wept like i had lost the only thing i ever loved. If you miss anyone in your life "THIS FILM WILL MOVE YOU" and its even better with its cocky but intelligent script. An "arty" movie that you can relate to. Fantastic soundtrack that will have you dancing along to and at times will have you crying like a baby girl who has lost her pony! A truly inspireing film. An absoloute must for any REAL movie buff's collection. A modern day cinima paradiso with a sureal yet and alternetive edge.
