That Damn Good !, 29 Jan 2003
I love Triple H. The smarts of the world may hate him, but for me is the total package and truly the game. I've followed him since his Blue Blood days, through to King of the Ring, DX side kick, leader, defector, rebel and eventually The Game. He truly has had an amazing journey in the world of wrestling and it was about time a DVD was made for him. Even Kurt Angle has one and he's been in the WWE only 3 years. Firstly, this is a great DVD. It has so much Triple H info and he is NOT in character during the interview which helps make you identify with him more. It has part of his great shoot interview with JR where 'THE GAME' is first mentioned and he talks about how the fans made the name stick. His humour segments, VERY funny, his injury, his comeback and his reaction to the pop he got, which is helped because he is out of character when he talks about it. His bodybuilding hobby and his journey to the WWE title. Its a Triple H journey and a great DVD.So, why 4 stars and not 5. Simply, it doesn't go into a greater depth as I would have liked. It would have been nice to have some more details on Triple H in D-X. His relationship with Shawn Michaels and Chyna, some of the sketches they did. The new DX, I would have loved to have seen the Nation Sketch, his feud with the Rock, the invasion of WCW headquaters, his excellent ladder match with Rock that made Rock a star and finally had people looking at Triple H like he could be a future main eventer, ending with his turning on the group. His heat with Austin. His excellent feud with the Rock, that helped make critics, fans and everyone admit he was the Game. The classic feud with Austin that was a year in the making, climaxing at No Way Out with an awesome 2/3 falls match. One of the best, most brutal matches ever. It is a shame that these things are missing from his story but thats not enough to spoil it for me. Any Triple H fan will be more than happy with this. As a bonus, theres a VERY funny MadTv sketch, his match at the Royal Rumble with Cactus and a CLASSIC match from 89 with Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. Buy this DVD to find out why Triple H is the Game and is That Damn Good,
