Synopsis

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer star in this remake of the late 1960s/early 1970s television series. Jeff Randall (Mortimer) is a private investigator who receives some unlikely assistance--from the ghost of his dead partner Marty Hopkirk (Reeves). The programme also features Emilia Fox, Tom Baker, and guest appearances by other well-known British actors. This collection presents all seven episodes of the second season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant, 17 Oct 2002

The second CD of Reeves and Mortimers Randall and Hopkirk is absolutly brilliant. As ever their humour is first rate, the stories are gripping and the acting hilarious. First class

The DVD features the episodes in widescreen, which corrects a fault with the frist series where the episodes on the DVD were in sqaure format despite being originally filmed in letterbox format

5.0 out of 5 stars Randall & Hopkirk, 24 May 2003

Loved the first series, both courtesy of Amazon, difficult to find in regular shops. Tom Baker is barking but great. Vic and Bob make the new stuff their own, hope there is a 3rd on the way. The music is also great, a constant "listen to CD" in my car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic and underrated, 20 Jan 2006
By A Customer
This series seems to be a love it or hate it thing. I believe it deserved to be much better recieved than it was. It is best not considered as a 'remake' as the director (Higson) did not watch the original before writing. Its less a detective drama and more...well...strange. Which is a good thing. It must also be remembered that Vic and Bob are NOT actors. I believe that the humorously bad acting gives it charm. If you expect the original with new faces, this is not it, but for a surreal mix of comedy and drama, i recommend it thoroughly

4.0 out of 5 stars Randall & Hopkirk (2000)
The humour's more subtle in some episodes, and the music is not nearly as good as Season 1. But the character development and the stories are great elements. Read more

Sadly doesn't compare with the original, despite the use of modern technology, as is usually the way with remakes.
