Stunning, 10 Dec 2002
By A Customer
Phil has matured over the years into perhaps the best vocalist in rock today. Note that thats rock, not RaWk. Dancing With St.Peter is all that you could wish for. Tight as a tight thing, expansive, emotive. Jeff Kollman is stunning on guitar, and like the previous Mogg/Way album Chocolate Box, he never gets in the way. Rythmn is strong too. Shane Galaas is a joy to listen to, and BTW, live?, as entertaining as Keith Moon! The bass is there, it too doesn't swamp. Production is not glossy smooth, not wiped over with the same cloth of blandness that affects so much music these days. Excellent dynamic range on the CD. As for Phil....What can I say. His writing improves with each release. His delivery can be sweet, sarcastic, ironic, vitriolic or just plain down'n'dirty rock. I defy anybody to listen to the first verse of the title track and remain unmoved. All in all, this is -NOT- a UFO CD. Nope. This is a Phil Mogg CD, he just happens to have a superb band behind him. I look forward to the next release from this lot. Oh yeah, Micheal who?

This is one hell of an album, 17 Oct 2002
This is an amazing album. Phil Mogg's vocals are out of this world. He has developed into one of the finest rock vocalists of all time. The rest of the band are tighter than a gnats chuff, producing some of the best rock music I've heard in a long long time. The opener 'Overload' is straight out of a lap dancing bar, whilst the title track 'Dancing with St Peter' is warm, mellow and smooth. This album has got it all. Buy it.

Michael who?, 8 Oct 2002
Among UFO fans there has long been a common conception that Phil Mogg always produced his best work when in the studio with Michael Schenker and recent side projects under the name of Mogg/Way with first George Bellas and then Jeff Kollman (Edwin Dare, Cosmosquad, MSG) have been met with a "it's good, but......" response. I challenge the critics to say the same of 'Dancing With St. Peter' where Mogg again teams up with Kollman, drummer Shane Gaalaas (Cosmosquad, Yngwie Malsteem, Uli Jon Roth, MSG) and bassist Jimmy Curtain. Mogg's performance is flawless, and as you would expect lyrically strong complementing the chunky, funky guitar riffs of Kollman perfectly. Some UFO purists may not like it, but if you have heard the latest UFO offering 'Sharks' and liked that, then I can guarantee you will like this more.. it will grab you round the throat and get those hairs on the back of your neck up the moment you hear the first hear the opening track.
