Open your ears to this. With Melody A.M., Royksopp has carved out a fusion of retro/organic rhythm, resonating basslines, and synthpop bliss while maintaining a unique signature of sound defying any direct comparison. Sound different? It is, but once it finds its way to your stereo you'll be hard pressed to take it out again. Don't let this one get away. Brilliant.

It's a fantastic album, as other people have already said. Their second album "The Understanding" isn't anywhere near as good as this.

If you're British and you already own the 1CD edition of "Melody AM", though, to get the bonus tracks that are on the second disc it's cheaper just to buy the CD singles.

The music videos are lovely pieces of work, well worth seeing. In particular the "Poor Leno" video brings a whole new level to the music, and now I can't help but think of the furry bear in the video every time I hear the track.

A truly magnificent album - warm, deep, melodic and utterly joyous. You know when you're wrapped up snugly in bed while a storm rages outside your window? THAT'S how contented this makes me feel. I haven't been blown away by an album like this since I first heard Air's "Moon Safari". If you enjoyed that, or indeed if you're a fan of Lemonjelly, Zero 7, Bent or Bonobo and you haven't bought this yet, I can't imagine what you're waiting for. Do it now... yes, now!!
