According to the IMDB this is Will Hay's first film, and you have to believe this as his comic character is only partially developed. Watching it now, it does seem dated. The opening sequence is a long Busby Berkeley inspired song and dance routine as the employees all arrive at the N.B.G. radio station head office. There is quite a lot of song and dance in this movie so if thats not your scene this isn't worth buying.

Hay plays the head of the NBG, who employs a new head of program development to try and change the rather staid programs the network puts out. In the end this involves the use of Television, which in 1934 was still in its infancy and would have been almost unknown to the 1930's audience. There are some good comic moments, mostly not involving Will Hay it has to said. Overall this is not classic Will Hay though so buy with caution.

This film is available as part of one of the Will Hay DVD box sets.
