5.0 out of 5 stars The Deviants older, punkier, better, 20 Oct 2003
From the frantic punk opening of 'When Dr Crow Turns On His Radio' you just know that Mick Farren is back on form, he growls his way through the old standard 'You're Gonna Need Somebody On Your Bond' and 'The Murdering Officer' which sounds like the Bad Seeds of their best form.

The short, spoken word (over a rocking backing) 'Sold To Babylon' leads onto the superb Tom Waites sounding 'Taste The Blues' with some great guitar licks from the frets of Andy Colquhoun.

Colquhoun is also fantastic on Farren's Vincet Price workout 'Song Of The Hired Guns' followed by the menacing chant of 'Diabolo's Cadillac' and the solid rock beat of 'Bela Lugosi 2002'

The fractured space jazz of 'A Long Dry Season' is followed off by the ironic rendering of the Adam Faith hit 'What Do You Want'.

A great CD highly recommended
