This is incredibly good value! A 6-CD jewel case set for just �9! And these performances deserved to be paid more than that. John Lanchberry is just so good with this 'Dance' music!

Tempi for me is very important in these 3 Tchaikovsky ballets. Timing must be perfect. Lanchberry has everything under control. The slow movements aren't too slow. The fast ones are exhilarating! The Philhamonia is on top form.

The Previn/EMI sleeve set is also selling at the same price but I would recommend the Lanchberry set simply because (I have both sets):
1. I prefer the jewel case to the cardboard sleeves;
2. The Philharmonia sounds more minted compared to the LSO on EMI in the 1970s (oboes don't sound too sweet over there).
