Federico's selection of 'The World's Greatest Salon Tangos' deserves every one of those five stars. It is not just that there are no bad ones on the whole four disks; it is that time and again those dance floor fillers just keep coming up. Waltz and Milonga are well represented along with the distinct traditional Tango style. To keep it simple, I am a Tango dancer. If you are a Tango dancer buy this four CD set now.

This compilation has been brought together by someone who has obviously heard every piece of tango available from the 20s, 30s, 40s & early 50s.
Each piece has been selected for its beauty and regularity of rythm.
It is meant for dancers who find more complex pieces of tango music, particularly modern tangos difficult to follow. It is a product of the frustration of the compiler with owfully samey & undistinguished music played at tango milongas(clubs) around the world. It also has taken calculated risks with pieces of tango which can easily be dissmissed if judged by the 1st few bars but worth listening to beyond the 1st half a minute or so. The music is good enough for a person who does not neccessarily dance tango to listen to and truely enjoy it.

Great selection of tango songs by someone who knows tango music. I enjoyed the notes about the songs written by Federico in his own inimitable style.
