Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
Dark Angel is a 3-D scrolling fighting game based on the TV series of the same name. You play a DNA-enhanced super soldier, fighting through various levels using your bionic abilities.

The game basically consists of fighting and more fighting, using basic repeated button taps for kicks and punches that all lead up to a rather dull rage-attack. The inclusion of a stealth element in the gameplay does nothing to lift the tedium; it has all the hallmarks of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell but none of the sophistication (though you do have an added first-person sniper-attack feature that enables you to zoom in and take out baddies with a limited amount of fuss).

Unfortunately, Dark Angel is a game that has no real "wow" factor; it has nothing new to offer and leaves you feeling unimpressed and disappointed. It may well appeal to fans of the series or of Jessica Alba, but even that's unlikely. Overall, this game is better off left in the dark. --Rob Holliday

Product Description
James Cameron's Dark Angel is a 3rd-person action-adventure game, with an emphasis on stealth and fighting, based on the hit TV series of the same name. Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic Seattle, the game lets players take on the role of Max, a genetically enhanced super-soldier, on a quest to reclaim her past by finding her sister and fellow genetically altered escapees. As a child Max escapes from her military creators, Manticore, along with a handful of her siblings, and makes a life for herself on the edgy streets of 21st-century Seattle. Haunted by dark memories of her victimisation at the hands of Manticore personnel, Max is on a quest to reclaim her past and locate her missing siblings. Max believes that by finding her family she can overcome the battle that rages inside her; as the soldier she has always been is confronted by the woman she wishes to become. You will play through multiple missions and objectives on each level, which will include side stories of lost siblings, destroying Manticore and helping Logan Cale overturn corrupt government movements.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Superb! Exelent, 13 Mar 2003
This is one hella good game equally as good as the series, the range of moves and stuff that you can interact with is immence and makes the game so much better.
The charachter voices are all either the real people or a very good imitation, jessica alba's is real so is logans)
The only flaw is a slightly flat facial features but only in game play not in cutscenes.
Oh and the gallery at the end of the game is very nice, very nice indeed ;)

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor, 10 Feb 2003
Presentation values mirror the basement-level production of the Dark Angel television series. Virtually every level depicts what looks to be the same desolate Seattle street scene, with identical burning police cars and garbage blocking intersections. A lot of art and objects have been reused, such as the dumpster that you can close with a kick and the ubiquitous video game crates. Max herself looks reasonably good and is suitably animated, although her opposition is formed from just five or six character models. Most are soldiers, although as the game wears on you encounter different tough guys and some genetically altered humans. Also, load times are extremely long. Expect to wait nearly a minute to load a save, which is inexcusable in this case because much of the exact same art is loaded in each and every level. Audio hasn't been handled any better. Alba and Weatherly deliver their lines with the emotional impact of an automated voice-mail system. Most of Alba's contributions are stock action-movie one-liners or double entendres geared toward her adolescent male fans, and frankly, they're embarrassing.

Dark Angel can be finished at the default difficulty setting in just an evening of play. All in all, the development of this game probably should have been canceled at the same time as the television series upon which it is based. Questionable design decisions, terrible implementation, and the apparent lack of faith in a project doomed long before its completion make for a game that is more frustration than fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best game made from a tv show, 9 Aug 2003

(REAL NAME)
This game has got to be the best addaptation of a TV show ever. the Buffy game was nothing compaired to this. Just the basic of moves you can make Max do in this game are some of the best since Mortal Combat...but thats my opinion. The story to the game has a point to it which keeps you gripped, it makes you wanna get further and further into the game to see what is gonna happen next. Some of the levels are challenging esspecially the ones were you need to sneak past three or more guards without being seen.
