After three years of hiding in a studio, Suede poke their heads out to release 'Positivity'. Having heard the new album ('A New Morning') i would say 'Positivity' is by far one of the weakest tracks on an excellent album, it also seems strange that this is a lead off single. Nonetheless, the song has a nice light touch, and is boldly simplistic, baring similarity to 'Everything Will Flow', and 'She's In Fashion' in places, it's a fairly average Suede single. Fans (who are not tin the fanclub) will be tempted by the inclusion of 'Simon' (from the soundtrack to 'Far From China')- this is an excellent song. Other songs include 'One Love', 'Superstar', 'Cheap' and (on the DVD) 'Colours' and 'Campfire song'....one for the fans

I completely disagree with the other reviewers who've said that this is a weak track or in any way lack-lustre. It makes me feel positive when I hear it- like a burst of sunshine. Its pure pop- with the intangible feel of ecstasy running through a simple lyric, dovetailing perfectly mood-wise with a jangling tune. I suspect the band chose this as the lead single off "ANM" in preference to tracks like "Obsessions" and "Beautiful Loser" because they want to mark out their new territory- which is somewhat different to their previous work. I hope they find their way to a broader fanbase through this track- and that it underscores their reputation as Britain's GREATEST band.

Positivity absolutely lives up to its name. An uplifting, gorgeous melody and lovely, optimistic lyrics. People longing for the days of Suede killing flashboys or describing accidents on escalators may be disappointed. Fans of beautiful pop music won't be.

B-sides of One Love and Simon are both excellent as well.

Cheer up folks--Suede's back.
