I years ago bought the sheet music to go with these beethoven works, and with it came the cd. I somehow managed to lose it rather quickly and so immediately purchased this one. I primarily bought the sheet music because I couldn't find any other including the moonlight sonata, but when I listened to the appassionata in particular I was quite mesmerized. Although Glenn Gould himself says he does Bach best, and perhaps this is true since his most popular performances are Bach, I love the energy of his interpretation of Beethoven, and compared to other pianists Gould definately in my eyes is on another level. From beginning to end this cd is an earopener, passionate and - as Gould always seems to be - unique.
