Some of the best CD's in my collection were bought without ever hearing one of it's tracks before. Lucky Pierre's 'Hypnogogia' is one of those CD's. Having brought it home from the shops I slipped it into my CD player, unaware of the discovery I was about to make.

At first listening I found a few of the tracks to be a tad repetitive, but you soon forget this as Lucky Pierre seamlessly intertwines beautiful classical music with electronic beats. Each track has it's own character and mood, none of them disappoint.

This album is consistent throughout, containing moments of sheer beauty and is, at times, chilling. Try listening to it in the dark.

I can only recommend.

Aidan Moffat continues in the same vein as recent Arab Strap material, notably the Strap/Famous Turbulence remixes. The resulting fusion of sampled down-tempo classics and opera with electronica is serene and creepy.
What i find weird is how come this is so good, yet Malcolm Middleton's '5:14 Fluoxytine Seagull Alcohol John Nicotine' isn't: and there was me thinking that Aidan just sung Malcolm's songs.

Never before has downtempo wrenched the heart as much as this album. Every track beautifully constructed to appeal to your ears and mind.

I can't explain it well at all - just buy it!
