Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Half human, half-vampire, Agent Blood Rayne has superhuman strength, agility and senses that make her capable of skills far beyond the scope of a normal human. This formidable huntress works for the Brimstone Society--an underground organisation that seeks out and destroys supernatural threats. Two missions, five years apart, turn out to be connected by one man: Jurgen Wulf. For years, he's been searching for powerful occult artefacts that would bring Nazi Germany into a new age of domination during WWII. Blood Rayne is the world's only chance to defeat his elite Nazi army and prevent them from releasing untold horror upon its people.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Your coming back from the dead act is getting a little old', 9 Aug 2004
By S. A. Insole "Steph0rz" (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
BloodRayne is one of the very few games that can hold my attention for months. The controls may be a little simplisitc, but I really don't think that using a thousand buttons at once just to shoot someone qualifies the game as elite. Rayne is a fantastic character to play with. She is funny, sexy and smart. The weapons are also fun. You don't have to worry about running out of ammo when she's got her blades. The aura sense helps you so much when you don't know where the hell to go. The storyline is interesting, and the game does make way for a PLAUSIBLE sequel. The fact that Rayne can kick anyone's arse is made up by (slightly annoyingly)thousands of enemies at one given time. Argentina missions are better than Louisiana, Germany missions so much better than Argentina. The gameplay is not too difficult, the structure may be a little linear, but you can so much fun slicing people, so who's to care? NB. Looking at the cheat menus, you can make up little messages...some which you will get replies. Try this one: IAMINSANE and PASSJIMMYTHEJOINT
In conclusion, this game is up there with my favourites (which includes MGS & GTA:VC). You like red-headed half vampires? You'll like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloodsucking babe with a penchant for shooting Nazis !!, 7 Jul 2003
By Mr. N. C. Woollsey "woollseys" (Norwich, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having purchased this as spur of the moment thing I was in no way disappointed with this great game. A heavy gothic atmosphere combined with the amusement of choosing between slicing & dicing your enemies with a pair of 3 foot long blades or turning them into Swiss cheese using a variety of lethal WWII weapons produces a title which finally gives as much enjoyment as playing the classic Tomb Raider for the first time did on the original Playstation.
Although this title seems to have been given a distinctly mediocre assessment by all the PS2 magazine reviewers this seems largely due to it's release date unfortunately being so close to the much awaited "Enter the matrix" - certainly for those gamers who are looking for a mix of action AND storyline this title certainly holds it's own.
The controls may seem a little simplistic to enthusiasts of the hardcore beat-em-up where smashing 15 buttons at once to get that special move may be appealing but in this game it's far more satisfying to let the character worry about which acrobatic manuevre to use to despatch her evil foes.
The only small downside is the initial training mission in the swamps of Louisiana which pits you against zombie extras from 'Deliverence' - but as soon as you get through this the fun really starts.
Armed with a dizzing array of firearms (Go on - you know you want to use the two chain machine guns on that SS trooper !)and your Dhampir powers (one of which looks and plays suspiciously like Bullet time in the Matrix) you're set to be playing this one long after the Moon has come up...
