Manufacturer's Description

Blinx is a cat on a mission to fix glitches in time. With the aid of his trusty and powerful Time Sweeper, Blinx recovers lost time crystals and fights Time Monsters in his attempt to rescue a kidnapped princess and return order to the world! At the Time Factory, where time is manufactured and managed, Blinx has worked as Time Sweeper and janitor for years. His daily tasks include collecting lost time crystals before they cause glitches in time. When Blinx hears that a princess has been taken hostage by a family of thugs who plan to steal all of the time crystals and abuse their powers, he decides to take matters into his own paws. Join Blinx on an adventure to find the missing princess, save the Time Factory and restore "timely" world order.Actually control the flow of time, a feature only possible on Xbox. Record actions, play them back and have dual characters cooperate to complete challenges. Throw the world into slow motion while moving about in real time, fast-forward to achieve goals more quickly, or even rewind the world to gain additional opportunities at completing challenges, opening hidden areas and more.Glitches in time impact the various worlds that Blinx visits. Night and day occur simultaneously, buildings are warped to the point of falling over - things are definitely not as they appear. Visit nearly 40 fantastical levels in "warped-reality" worlds inspired by Venice, canyons, caves, ancient ruins, even an MC Escher-inspired "fourth dimension." What would Blinx do without his Time Sweeper? The most important piece of equipment for the job, the TS1000 stores time crystals, picks up trash, and can even be used in sticky situations by using the powerful suction to climb vines and ropes or grab ceilings and walls. Throw the TS 1000 in reverse for enough blowing power to blast items at enemies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blinx,a fast and fun romp!, 26 Dec 2002
Blinx is a fun and fast platformer which takes one step above a world saving plumber- a time sweeping cat! Hows that for innovation!?!A lot of reveiwers have moaned about this game, but quite frankly I don't see why. The graphics really take advantage of the power of XBOX. The gameplay is fun and fast and there is no slowdown at all, and the 10 minuite time limit means you won't have to spend hours of boring gameplay looking for the next boss or level. The game takes a while to crack but even when you do you'll be coming back to try and get the toughest armour and strongest vacuum on the block. A fast and frantic game, this really does make a classic!

5.0 out of 5 stars should be four star but it earns one more for innovation, 12 Nov 2002
I remember being intrigued when first hearing about blinx. suprisingly I never thought that a person like me, who prefers a good FPS or beat-em-up, especially when i prefer multiplayer gaming, to be purchasing a single player cartoony platform puzzle game. The time control aspect is brilliant and is sometimes essential in order to progress, but in a nutshell makes puzzles easier as well as fighting time monsters. the objective of each mission is to kill all the time monsters on each level within 10 mins. In this respect it's not too puzzle packed but there are some puzzles which you might find quite dificult if you find it hard to grasp the time control aspect. I don't normally play puzzle games but this game veers more on the side of platformer and I think what probably drew me to blinx was the total originality on the time control idea. Time can be paused or slowed so in general the world is easier to move in and deal with, Fast forward is used to speed up your runs if you are going for speed records, if a bridge collapses, no problem. use a rewind and presto, uncollapsed bridge. record lets you kill a few monsters and say, jump on a switch to open a door. then time rewinds and the recording of your actions plays back in real time, allowing you to go grab some time crystals, while not being hampered by any enemies, as they are all after your recording. I know giving a game the full score is silly, but I reckon this is gonna become a classic, and its good to see some non-launch titles that are utilising the Xbox Hardware to great effect. Microsoft is on the right track now methinks. release a few more games as original as this and you'll have it made.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game that appeals to all, 22 Nov 2002
Luckily this is a game not only for the mature player but also for the kids. If you only like games like unreal and the like, don't read any further, this one is not for you. The game looks great, and its very easy to get into it. The option to influence the time is great, you can effect your surroundings, and sometimes you have to go back to a level to open up new passages with the time ability. You can play through a level first, but then you only have seen a part of it. Later on with new abilities you can find hidden paths and collect your cat medals. Also you can upgrade your gear to suck up larger objects, and then you can do more damage to the bigger monsters. The first level is maybe easy, but it lets you get the hang for the game, and level 2 gets already more complicated. This is a game that you will play for weeks to come. And surely the kids will go back to it after that time.
