Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

In Minority Report you play as John Anderton, an officer in the elite Pre-crime unit responsible for apprehending would-be murderers before they can commit the deed. Given these parameters, it's not surprising that not a lot of characters die in this game--but there's still plenty of violence. Anderton himself is quite adept at pummelling other officers, guards, robots or anyone else who gets in his way. With a decent selection of kicks, punches and combinations (you can purchase additional combos when you collect enough dollar signs), Anderton can beat his way through at least the beginning levels.

Unfortunately, you are unlikely to find much to enjoy in Minority Report, even if you liked the film. The elements that made the movie worthwhile--a compelling narrative wrapped up with a high-tech, futuristic bow--are glossed over or absent from the game. What's more, the gameplay is as redundant and simplistic as the graphics are uneven. Worse yet, the game does not allow you to save mid-level (some levels are long), and the instruction manual contains no information about how to play the game, forcing you to play through the training course.

Minority Report does successfully represent some parts of the movie, such as the concussion gun, the jet pack and the spider bots. The first time you fire the concussion gun, for example, you'll be impressed with the way the space around Anderton ripples with the force of the weapon. Otherwise, the game levels are unimpressive and character animation is poor. Minority Report is not great at recreating the movie, and is even less successful when it breaks with it. --Bill Hummel

Manufacturer's Description

Based on Steven Spielberg's blockbuster thriller, Minority Report is the only game that lets the player relive the movie experience by combining hand-to-hand combat with futuristic weapons and devices straight out of the movie. Players assume the role of the movie's hero, Precrime Officer John Anderton, in an all-new adventure as he attempts to prove his innocence while uncovering an insidious conspiracy. Players use a combination of hand-to-hand combat and firepower as they journey through more than 40 levels of futuristic cinematic action and adventure. Innovative gameplay features and non-stop action create outstanding suspense and dynamic replayability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic game for a fantastic film!, 19 Dec 2002
By A Customer
Its 2054. You're John Anderson, super cop of the pre crime division. New technology now allows you to stop murder before the murder happens. John Anderson has dedicated his life to pre crime and has always believed that the system is perfect... until one day, when the system catches up with him.

It has to be a first. I think this is the only game based on a movie that has actually been true to the film in every single way. The amount of detail is mind blowingly fantastic. It has over 30 exhilarating levels jam packed with action and adventure. Its sensational graphics and challenging game play make this game impossible to put down. If you're in full time education or otherwise, I advise you to not buy this game as it will have you up into the early hours of the morning!

I award this game two, now very sore, thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic, exellent, perfect, superb, 2 Feb 2003
you play as john anderton, a tough cop who works for pre-crime, a organisation that can predict crimes before they happen. then pre-crime turns on you and you work your way though 40 levels fighting robot and human foes. this game will amaze you, with its superb graphics and a mixture of hand-to-hand combat and cool weapons.

4.0 out of 5 stars This game is awful, but pure bizarre fun, 7 Jul 2008

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is terrible, but so so fun. Throwing fat cops down off ledges and buildings through dozens of panes of glass and into kitchen utensils, grenades that make people vomit. Bad wobly graphics, but this somehow makes Minority Report even more enjoyable, good in all the ways its not trying to be. But honestly, the joy of literaly throwing people 20 feet in front of you as they comicaly snap their bones on stairs and cupboards and wrap their spine around footwalk banister before kicking them them another 10 feet out of a 50 story building, the bad guys literaly fly and float into sharp objetcs, and theres no blood!a surreal, childishly sadistic game. John Anderton, based on tom cruise, hilariously is an old man with white hair. The story is bad, voices are even worse, guns from the film are in the game and they can do pretty cool stuff as you buy them off the black market. A large amount of hand to hand combos and you unlock more as your procceed in the game. It does get repetitive but just having it on one side knowing if you havent played it in ages theres instant fun to be had. This is the BEST bad cheap tacky game I have ever played.
