That'll Be the Day/Remember

'That'll be the day ' is a good quality cd version of the original album of the same name, & for the songs & the price is worth having in your collection, but 'Remember'? - I don't. My mates & I, as teenagers in the late 50s/early 60s, bought between us most if not all of the Holly/Crickets singles released in the UK, including those issued after his sad death. What we do remember, & still have, are the versions on vinyl of these recordings at that time. Some of these latter recordings were re-released on 'The Buddy Holly Story volume 2' LP, which to the best of my knowledge has never been seen on CD (if only), but they were still as they sounded on the singles. If 'Remember' had replicated those, it would have gone a long way to satisfying our 'wants' lists, but these songs have all been subjected to overdubbing & in some cases (Peggy Sue got married,Crying,Waiting,Hoping in particular)have totally unrecognisable backings. If you are looking for recordings of these songs as originally released, this is not the album for you.
