There is very little that i can say to you about this film that would capture the sheer brilliance of Nicole Conn. This is truly the most enticing, sophisticated and sexual movie with a very subtle undercurrent. It is not all out sex, no! but it IS worth watching. My experience of lesbian films has been somewhat disappointing to say the least and i never thought that we would see a film that accurately portrays the attraction between two women. This film has it all and when i watched it for the first time about 10 years ago it had me hooked from the start. Since then i have watched it many times and it just gets better. Enjoy!

This is great lesbian romance with some humour and angst thrown in on the side. The film has slightly less detail than the book but it is a real feel good story that leaves you wanting to find your partner and turn off all the lights! Given that there are so few decent lesbian films out there this one is a real bonus, just a shame they wont release a region 2 version. One to watch over and over just for the ending.

I'm torn between giving this 4/5 stars but have gone for the latter after mentally comparing it to some (majority) of the movies out there with lesbian relationships. It's intelligent conversation with sensible enough people. There was a lot of feminist type talk going on which can get a little *eye rolling* but the development of the relationship between Noel and Claire is funny, cute and painfully deep all at the same time. It's a meeting of minds and an attraction so strong it transends 'normalcy' for both of them in its own way. Claire, the straight woman and Noel the lesbian who never gets involved.
Not without its flaws but well worth seeing.
