CJ's younger family members have used his time machine, and have hidden themselves throughout history. CJ now needs to find them, so join him and Edison, step into the time machine, and visit Egypt, China, South America, the Plymouth Colony in the USA and Antarctica, and find out how people lived many years ago by playing games.
Meet King Tut in Egypt, take part in Chinese New Year celebrations, visit the Inca empire in South America, help at the harvest in Plymouth Colony, and meet Roald Amundsen in Antarctica, the first explorer to visit the South Pole. Earn points, which can be exchanged for stickers and then printed out and used with CJ's time-hopping world map.
This is another excellent CD-ROM in the Jump Ahead range, which allows children to learn while having fun, and at the same time contributes to the development of their critical thinking, team work and imagination. The publishers recommend the CD-ROM as being suitable for five to eight-year-olds, but help will be needed for the younger end of this age group, especially during its installation. However, older children (and adults too!) will enjoy the CD and all its games. To get the most from the package, a printer is necessary. The excellent pamphlet accompanying the CD-ROM is very child friendly, using simple language and black and white pictures. -Susan Naylor
