Unashamedly one for the children, 18 Jan 2003
With so many excellent golf games already available for the PS2, it's going to be tough for Disney Golf to make itself noticed. Simplicity really is the name of the game here. No 'real time swing' shenanigans, just one button push to start the swing, one to swing down and a third to strike the ball. As a result, it's outrageously easy to play for anyone over the age of five and, in one player mode, the standard of computer opposition is ludicrously low. It is far too easy to thrash the computer, as you really have nothing to do except bash buttons. There's nothing along the lines of imparting spin, or selecting speciality shots and putting and chipping are no challenge at all. That said, it can be a fun game for more than one player, although Mickey Mouse's 'tips' and the repetitive music soon become infuriating. However, for very young children, it's ideal. It looks wonderful, with many a Disney favourite to choose from and the courses themsleves are very imaginitive.Children are naturally impatient, so this is a game they can enjoy because they will be able to win without too much practice. Be warned though, with Tiger Woods a household name, for youngsters over the age of five, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is a much better bet. It's more realistic, the courses are better and there are infinitely more challenges to occupy their time. Disney Golf is fun, but it's far too limited to keep the 'wee smashers' occupied for too long.

Great fun for all ages, 2 Dec 2003
By A Customer
The game is very playable and cute with lots of colours and great graphics. Its very simple to use but enough skill is needed to get good scores to keep interest up. The first time I played with two friends when having a "lads night in" and we really enjoyed it. My 7 year old son loves it too, so great fun for all ages.

Birdies, eagles and a duck called donald!, 5 Mar 2003
You might approach Disney Golf and laugh for a certain period of time thinking it will be childlike and brightly shallow. You might even expect the odd sing-a-long, taking golf balls or giant weights falling from the sky to crush underperforming golfers. But suprisingly it is a very playable golf game.Of course, this isn't an entirely straight game of gold. There are several recognisable and realistic modes of play; Strokeplay, Matchplay and Skins, plus combination play for a pair of two-player teams, Long Drive or Near Pin contests and a challenge option where you play against AI(computer) characters. Each toon has there own playing style as well, for example Donald Duck is a good all-rounder, while Goody is a power player with a hefty swing. MY VERDICT: THE GOODS: -Real golf games suck the fun out of ball-thwaking LET DOWNS: -Only eight characters, only six courses. Graphics: 8/10 Sound: 6.5/10 Gameplay: 7.4/10 Life span: 6.2/10 OVERALL SCORE AND THOUGHTS: -6.4/10 64% PGA Tour Golf + Walt Disney toon icons = a suprisingly enjoyable and playable game.
