5.0 out of 5 stars Uplifting introduction to world music, 10 Jul 2002
By A Customer
Fantastic. A chillout album devoid of all the usual names (Moby aside) and full of interesting and involving new music, but not so horizontal that it's not worth listening to.

I found that disc 2 and the more world influenced "classic" disc was spectacularly good, from the sublime drumming on Bob Holroyd's "Waking The Spirits" to the really uplifting sound of Joyce on the brazilian "Forcas D'Almas". Completely new to me, but I'll certainly be looking out for them from now on.

Disc One is equally good, if more familiar, taking in more modern artists such as Nitin Sawhney and Jazzanova, but again retaining a freshness and interest missing on so many compilations these days.

Excellent, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Introduction to Electronica, 11 Oct 2005
Not only is this compilation an outstanding mix for the new electronica listener, it's a great mix for those who already know the style and have grown to love it!

From Art of Noise to Zero7 the first part of this compilation will not only tantilise your eardrums, but will leave you wanting more from it's great mix of artists. Each and everyone of these songs can be found on fantastic albums of their own. So once you're finished with this mix you can simply look for more from the artists on it and you will find a world of music at your fingertips.

The second CD is different but fantastic in its own right. Music from around the world can be found mixed into a great sounding compilation made of ethnic music made to a european ear, all while respecting the originality and complexity of each regions styles and sounds

GREAT SAMPLER.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
