4.0 out of 5 stars This is the film for all who like to escape reality, 14 Mar 2000
This review is from: Mortal Kombat [DVD] [1995] (DVD)
This film has a slighly thin story line, but you don't watch this kind of film for a thick story, its more of a film where you can let reality take a break, and fast, fun, and action takes control.

Theres plenty of very cool fight scenes, many that the matrix might of copied and theres also good thumping music to go with it.

If your looking for a serious film like the matrix look else where but if you want some mindless fun, TRY IT, YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Favourite Moments In Movie History #1, 16 Jun 2009
By Dead Ted Danson (Truth Or Consequences, New Mexicock) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Mortal Kombat [DVD] [1995] (DVD)
Spying who he presumes is a ship hand, Johnny Cage hands Liu Kang his bags and asks him to take them onboard. Liu accepts, and with a smile, drops them in the sea. Cage muses, "thank God I didn't ask him to park the car."

If you don't like this movie you take movies, yourself and life far too seriously.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mortal Kombat VHS, 27 Jul 2000
By A Customer
This has to be one of the best martial arts films I've seen. It has amazing special effects and outstanding fight scenes, with a balance in between so you're not going straight from one fight to another. The storyline works well and the soundtrack is great. There is a little bit of comedy one-liners, mostly courtesy of Liu Kang (Robin Shou) but for the most part, this is a serious film. The other thing that makes it good is that you don't need to have played the game to enjoy or understand the movie. My only criticism would be the lack of reality-at the end, Liu Kang has been beaten up, in two fights, received some hard blows and isn't even bruised.
