5.0 out of 5 stars Partying away at Memory Lane, 29 Jun 2002
By M.C. van Nispen (Breda Netherlands) - See all my reviews
As a Queen fan from the first hour (well... for me that's 1974) it was a stunning opening with Brian May on top of the world standing on the roof of Buckingham Palace. The line up on this cd is great and the sound quality is really perfect. Out of the total evening the best tracks are selected in my point of view, though I think the exclusive live version of Bohemian Rhapsody should've been included. I was at the World Premiere on May 14th of the Queen musical We Will Rock You (go see it!!!) it is stunning. All highlights on this cd and brilliantly captured oldies. They are still among us: Queen, Ozzy Osborne, Cliff Richard, Paul McCartney, Joe Cocker, Brian Wilson, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Rod Stewart, Roger Taylor and so on. This registration seems to sound even better than on TV! Buy it - is my advice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's Ray Davies?, 28 Jun 2002
By S. W. Ladd - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The music on this disc is a worthy tribute from the popular music industry to Her Majesty but...and it's a big but...where is Ray Davies and his quite superb performance of the Kinks' all time classic "Lola"? Whoever edited the gig for this release has omitted a character and a personality who epitomises what it is to be one of Her Majesty's British subjects. Only time will tell if this gentlemen receives a long overdue knighthood to compensate for him being edited out and being a man who is still proud to be an eccentic Brit!
Other than that qualification this, and its sister disc of the "Prom at the Palace", are essential purchases for those who wish to have a permanent memory of a truly magical weekend.
Rule Britannia!
