I was so pleased to find a recording of this rarely performed piece and even more pleased to find that it is UNJUSTLY neglected. All the tenor and soprano solos are lovely. 'When other lips' is now a particular favourite of mine and even the sadly hackeneyed 'I dreamt I dwelt in Marbled Halls' is beautiful when heard in context. The ensemeble pieces are lively, dramatic and moving as well.
A very good recording of a lovely opera. It made me want to see it live.
