Well, I disagree with Barry. I have been an Oldfield fan for many years (since the early eighties) and I think the best albums are the simplest ones; that means the first ten years of Oldfield's musical activity (with the exception of 1990's Amarok).

This album has to be heard with the 70's ears, I mean, if you like disco incursions of the latest Oldfield albums don't buy it. But if you appreciate purity of sound and voices, I recommend you "Children of the sun".

The music is excellent, if you enjoy folky dreamy music from the 60's, but the sound quality is appalling in places - sounds like the original tape has disintegrated in parts.

Yes, I'm an old hippie who thinks Mike Oldfield can cut the mustard and, yes, I think that NORMALLY Sally has a pretty good voice (quite strong on certain songs, even though some of them ARE a bit suspect and M.O.R.). So when I saw this one, I knew it was of historical interest, if nothing else - early Oldfield siblings collaboration couldn't be bad, could it?

How wrong I was. This is the biggest collection of insipid drivel ever. You know how they say that a best friend would tell you if you've got b.o.? Well someone should have warned them that this was the equivalent and it just might come back to haunt them. Best if it was deleted.
