4.0 out of 5 stars Great Compilation, 13 Jun 2002
I already had the Clapton - Tears in Heaven track before I bought the album, and the strength of that track convinced me to buy the rest of the album. It combines the best of all the MTV unplugged tracks, its just a pity it isn't a 2 CD Compilation, as there are loads and loads more that would have been worthy of being on this CD. It has a great range of music on it from the blues sty lings of Lenny Kravitz, to the classic tracks such as Mrs Robinson by Paul Simon and it also has the new acoustic sounds of Noel Gallagher and Alanis Morissette. I also loved the rendition of Linger by the Cranberries that is on the CD.

Its also good value, as it packs 18 tracks into the CD and is very easy to listen to, no matter what mood you are in! All in all this is a must for every acoustic fan, and has some great classics on there to listen to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some of the Best Acoustic Sounds Around, 25 Jun 2002
MTV Unplugged is of course the hugely popular MTV show on which highly respected artists perform many of their greatest hits acoustically and The Very Best Of MTV Unplugged does as it says, brings you some of the best acoustic recordings around.

Featuring the phenomenal Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton which is surely one of the most beautiful sounding songs around to great versions of Kiss From A Rose, Losing My Religion and What Can I Do to Noel Gallagher's take on Don't Look Back In Anger which is refreshing and the heavy sounding Summer Of '69 being toned down and sounding great. Lenny Kravitz completely reworks Are You Gonna Go My Way to something almost unrecognisable yet still good. All the other tracks are great as well with a very welcome inclusion from Live with Lightning Crashes which not too many may of heard but highlights how good they are. Although not perfect with plenty of other great unplugged tracks around which possibly could have enhanced it but also give room to a second volume.

Although there are many acoustic albums out just now, this one sneaks in front of the rest by having the biggest artists with some of their best songs as well as having the MTV Unplugged seal of approval. If you buy one acoustic album, make it this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, intelligent and worth the money, 24 Jul 2002
I ordered this one a whim, and at first listen I was gently blown away. It's worth the money just for the first track (Clapton's Tears In Heaven). It brings together very well known songs (Kiss From A Rose, Ironic, Summer Of '69) and gives them an interesting twist. Buy it now.
